The Johhny Laidlaw Art show: Asbury Lanes

Here's a portrait I did of m good friend John Laidlaw, he's a bouncer at the Asbury Lanes. I wish I had better pics or pics of it up during the show, fail lol. Anyhow it was a fun project and I did it in oil which I hardly ever use.

Bloomingdales 59th and Lex! Holiday time!

Every year for the past 5 years or so Bloomingdales has been hiring me to do hand painted gifts for their customers in the fragrance dept. This year we did ornaments!

Silk screen!

I'm taking printmaking classes at this studio in Ocean Grove called Social Animal Press. My teacher in Molly Johnson, she's awesome. Fist round, silk screen.... sooooo much fun! I took one of my fashion street portraits and pretty much silk screened it on everything. Here's an example on an article for the NY Times, It totally looks better lol ; ). Next round hoping to get into etching again.

Ocean Groooooove~

Recently I moved to this small beach town in NJ called Ocean Grove. It has a neat mix of folks here and funky victorian houses. Most unusual of all is the tent city near the Great Auditorium which is a Methodist church. These tents, well the property the tents are on, have been past through generations of families since the mid 1800's, pretty cool. Today I went over to tent city to draw/paint.

This is my friend Alev Ozkaynak, she's an incredibly talented artist to be featured on the "great Wall of Brooklyn" in Cinton Hill this September. She also rules the house at Maggie Browns, yummm.
